The track has unique attractions, and it is hoped to be the follow-up to the success attained in the previous editions of MTB Marathons.

During the day event it is estimated that S. B. Messines will be visited by approximately 1500 athletes, majority males, between the ages of 20 and 40, and by more than 5000 spectators from Portugal and the rest of Europe.

The MIBA wishes to be certified as one of the most important events in the category, on a national and internatonal level.

M.I.B.A. Registrations

We promise you a very competitive event, as there will be a € 2345 prize money and also those much sought points that give access to the world’s championships.

      

The MIBA will be held on the 9th October 2011 in S. B. Messines, county of Silves, and includes both amateur and professional races.

The leisure competition is extended to all amateur competitors, and is part of the 5th edition of the Silves trophy.  Thus, the athletes have the opportunity to visit places of particular beauty and interest throughout a sctrictly selected area.

The International Marathon of the Algarve event intended for the professional athletes in Cat. C2.  This competition  will include many well-known international athletes, that will give their best in order to obtain the scores that gives them access to the world championships and to the €2345 prize money offered by the Organisation.

      

Implement the practice of MTB by introducing to this area such an event, with international recognition, included in a competitive spirit, in an adventurous environment.  Furthermore, the idea is to introduce the area to all participants and place the Algarve "on the map" of the MTB world.

The ExtremoSul defends ethical values, related to the practice of this sport, as well as the preservation of nature.  The choice of the track, which will take place partially in remote areas, increases the level of responsibility and moral standing of the Association.
